DJ- Check!

In addition to the house work, the wedding planning is still in full swing.  Over the past month we have been researching and meeting with various DJs to book for the reception.  Our venue makes things so much easier and has a list of ones they have worked with in the past and highly recommend.  Given the peculiarities with the Vandiver (smaller, enclosed pavilion, noise restrictions in the historic town, etc.) I really wanted to go with someone that had successfully worked there before.  I had two favorites picked out in my mind and we met with both.  We clicked right away with the first one, but I was still unsure over a few details.  We met with the second one who turned out to be not as enthusiastic as we anticipated, but who we still felt comfortable with.  My vote was for the second which was ok by Mike.  After all, his reasoning over liking the first because she drove an SSR was just not convincing to me.  We sort of put it on hold for a few days and then got an email from my choice telling us he had another couple interested in the date, but was giving us first refusal since we first and had already met with him.  It was a Tuesday and he asked for a decision by Friday.  I emailed him back on Wednesday saying yes, we were going with him and sent an email to the other DJ thanking her and saying we had decided to go in another direction.  Within an hour or so, I got an email back from what I thought was our new DJ telling me he had decided to take his family to an out of town reunion that weekend instead.  Seriously?  Not only had he told me the day before that he was still available, but I'm also pretty sure he told me he wouldn't miss a wedding to attend things that came up, specifically things like family reunions.  I understood, after all we didn't have a signed contract in place, but I was still disappointed.  We ended up continuing the search and met with another DJ this past Friday night.  We really liked him and his vibe and decided that night that we were going with him.  The decision is made, the contract and check are in the mail, and best of all, I have one more thing to check of the to-do list!
