To Kitchen or Not to Kitchen...

That is the question for this week and next. Mike and I are considering updating the kitchen before we move in. With the lack of storage space and the yellowing, outdated cabinets, the kitchen will need to be remodeled at some point over the next few years. The question is, do we do it now or later? If we do it now while we are doing everything else, we will have a new kitchen to move into and immediately get to use the added storage space. Since we are not living there right now, we would be less stressed and have time to update everything without the inconvenience of trying to live there without a functional kitchen. We are also laying a new floor throughout the kitchen and living room and if we do the kitchen cabinets now, we would be able to match the new cabinets to the new floor. On the other hand, waiting would allow us to focus on everything else we have going on and ensure that everything is done on time. The cabinets and countertop are in decent enough shape, and we could probably live without the additional storage space for a little bit. But if we wait, we will be living in the house when we redo everything and it could be chaotic to be without a kitchen for that long. Also, if we wait, the new cabinets might not match the new floors that we are laying now. Oh decisions, decisions!
